She has worked as a parliamentary reporter, an investigative journalist and a documentary filmmaker. Pugliese’s honors include the Hyman Solomon Award for Public Policy Journalism; the Gordon Sinclair Award; the Charles Bury Award; and three Native American journalism awards and was co-recipient of the  2019 Elias Boudinot Free Press Award. Pugliese is a board member of Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) and president of the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ). She is an ambassador for Journalist for Human Rights (JHR).</p><p>	 </p>
