Dr. Marion Dove, Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Family Medicine, McGill University

Dr. Aaron Hoffman, Chief Clinical Innovation Engineer and practicing family physician, Atrius Health 

Dr. Marion Dove, an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University, has been Chair of the Department since November 1, 2019, as well as being a practicing family physician. She previously held the positions of Post-graduate (Residency) Program Director from 2015-2019, and Director of Faculty Development from 2019-2015, both in the Department of Family Medicine.

Dr. Dove attended Harvard University (BA 1988) prior to obtaining her MD from McMaster University in 1994. She completed her residency in family medicine at McGill University (1996), and a Women’s Health Scholarship at the University of Toronto (1997), before beginning her family practice at the CSLC Côte-des—Neiges in 1998. To this day, her family practice remains there and includes obstetrics with deliveries at the Jewish General Hospital. From 2003-2005 she practiced remote medicine in Blanc Sablon, on the lower north shore of the St. Lawrence River. Her research interests include family medicine obstetrics, role modelling, and medical education.

Aaron R. Hoffman, DO, MPH is Chief Clinical Innovation Engineer and a practicing family physician at Atrius Health in Boston, where he focuses on primary care for adults in an innovative, team-based practice. His particular clinical interests include reproductive health and approaching primary care with a broad scope, including an array of procedures. In addition to deep involvement in teaching Harvard Medical School students both clinically and in didactic sessions across several courses, Dr. Hoffman is also the medical director of the Physician Assistant program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and serves as an associate professor at the Institute.

In his role at the Center for Primary Care, Dr. Hoffman is the co-director of the Harvard Home for Family Medicine, and is passionate about advocating for family medicine within the Harvard community and fostering leadership development among family physicians in the greater Boston area and internationally. He also serves on the board of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts.

Prior to his current roles, Dr. Hoffman completed his training and chief residency at Central Maine Medical Center, in Lewiston, Maine. He attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and received a Masters of Public Health with a focus on health economics and policy at the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice at Dartmouth College, in Hanover, New Hampshire. His dual undergraduate degree is in biology and ancient societies from Vassar College, in Poughkeepsie, New York.
